The semester is half over, i can't believe that it passed by so far and yet i feel like i havent produced any complete paintings, i was in a rut that put my in a static state of frustration but i have overcome my limitations.

nigthmares coming from beneath your shoes

Sooooo finally i have my laptop working again. First the battery died on me and a day later after getting the new battery in the mail the charger breaks. So today i finally have a fully working comp and on the bright side, i got 2 chargers for the price of one.

New works on the horizon for the "Nightmare" art show at buck 15 august 30. I'm working on 2 small pieces for this show, only have one started the rest should be done before friday but its all good. School starts on Wednesday for me and i'm a bit excited for it but sad that i wont be able to lounge around every morning.

I uploaded the posters for the past show and the new show, pictures of work will be up soon and a vid of group interview from detour show should be coming soon.

News flash :three dog

It is august and pretty soon everyone is going to go their seperate ways, but our last show can be our way that we are all still together is this journey for our art. apparently the owner from buck 15 love the audience that came to see our show "detour" that he wants us to have continuous shows there, which is amazing becuase it will keep us motivated to do more work while we are in school. The next show is on August 30, last sunday of the month which will also include live music, for anyone who happens to pass by this blog there is no cover charge, so enjoy.

The next show is Detour: Nightmares. i havent started to see what i will be turning but i have started on some ideas for the show. unfortunately "One moment" is on hiatus until we get approval for a space. And hopefully when my computer gets fixed and the first Detour show comes down ill be puttin pictures of the works.

Body Language group exhibition was a ton of fun, if i am repeating myself it 's my mistake. I average amount of people came, many people were discourge by the rain that had been horrendous during that week. Afterward i went to get Miami's Casola's pizza, and i meet up with my fellow artist ar Abraxas bar/lounge on the beach but not part of the typical beach crowd. The artwork stayed up for a month. (pics will be posted at a later time).

This past Sunday my friend Lorelei was able to borrow the walls at this lounge called Buck 15 , this small place that rest on the second floor of Miss Yip Chinese cafe in south beach. The crowd for this show was alot, so many people for a small space that you could barely see the artwork, then when the live porformances came. Some of the groups were Tree Soundz, Soma and Araka ending the night with a high impact latin music. During the show we were interviewed by Madame Turk(name Unknown) about how we got involved with the venue and the piece we created for the show. The art/music show had another purpose for which we held a raffle for christi's house that helps sexually abused kids cope.

These small shows are a glimpse of what is to come to Miami as we as artist continue to have more and more shows . Next show "One Moment"

2 weeks of rain

It has been raining for the better parts of 3 weeks straight. But everything is ok, i am working on writing a proposal for a group exhibition with friends in the University of Miami project space. The space itself its amazing with a ton of character , the idea of the exhibition is to have one last hoorahh before we all go in different directions for schools.

i was able to scan a couple of my sketches, only the best one's will be put it. so enjoy.

The group exhibition kepts facing problems but finally is going to go on without any more issues. The group show is opening on june 26-27 while the north miami artwalk is happening. This is something that could help us artist since there will be the usual crowd that visit "Jazz at Moca". The show will happen at the CS gallery in front of the modern museum of comtemporary art, i'm excited about this and could again show at a later time at this gallery.

At the moment i am concentrating at creating as much work as i can. I spoke with the head of my art department at University of Miami and i can still apply to graduate as a BFA which is amazing since i would get my own space to paint. I will be painting and drawing as much as i can, since i need to show 20 pieces and want to show quality works. I have from now until the fall i have more than 15 pieces but want to use new and current works than referring to old works. But i will get this and work harder when i start in the fall.

Til Another Day

Just a little over week before the show. A significant issue arose, the timing between a theatre production and our art show. Both events could not take place at the same time but it's not a major problem since we just moved the Body Language show for June 13 which is during the next artwalk in the design district and wynwood. For now i will begin working on some possible oil painting for myself and begin artwork for next show possibly in July.

"An illustrated life" by danny gregory very inspiring to me since ive began to keep a sketchbook and continuously work in it everyday. highly recommended for sketchbook art. $20 only.

drawing from life

I have been inspired by all the art around me. Ive have been drawing in my new sketchbook everyday as a discipline for myself to grow as a better artist. Many other success artist have blog and like many i will document my progress i work towards my studio art degree. I hope to be able to upload the best 2-3 sketches from each week with events i am involved with. At the moment i have not done anything big but am working hard for new more group exhibitions.

My next show will be "Body Language" it is a group exhibition in the design district of Miami ,Fl. The show will be during the next art walk so we hope to have a lot of traffic since we are all only students. The painting is the cover for the show, i will begin working on the next work before the show.

From here there is nothing to do but draw everyday.
